Inspired by Washington Irving's The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1820) — not the horseman, but the valley itself: "the place still continues under the sway of some witching power, that holds a spell over the minds of the good people, causing them to walk in a continual reverie." A whole town, enchanted into dreaming. Some of us didn't need the spell.

The design features a moonlit hollow — a pale road winding down between dark wooded hills, a crescent moon hanging low with bats adrift beneath it — all framed in gnarled, thorny branches, with the quote lettered in ornate antique gold above and below.

Irving gave America its first great ghost story, and before a single hoofbeat is heard he spends his opening pages on this: a place where the air itself makes people see visions and hear music in the dark. Two centuries later, the reverie still takes anyone who reads past October's first page.

Washing Instructions

  5. When ironing, flip your t-shirts inside out and start with a lower heat setting. Sometimes, designs and irons don't mix well.
